Hallo,
At last some news from me.:-)
India in winter.. what does it mean? It means between 15 and 20°C and Indian men all wear scarfs, gloves and caps and suffer a lot from the cold whereas all western tourist wear T-Shirts or at miximum pullovers and enjoy the warmth in the sun. :-) But that is not all, today I found goats which were equipped and dressed with winter coats... because otherwise they might freeze? I have seen children here wearing less...???
But what else to say:
Generally spoken I enjoy the days very much! There is so much to see! But I am also glad when I come home to the hotel all in one each evening feeling rather exhausted. :-)
Here are some pictures .... :-)
Sending you all the best from Delhi.
Renate

But what else to say:
- the taximeter in tuktuks continue counting km very fast even though traffic is at a standstill, so go for the fixed fare in advance
- don't intend to use any motor vehicle during afternoon "rush hours" in Delhi...walking will turn out much faster
- if you are a woman alone everybody....EVERYBODY...looks at you. But if you are a woman alone wearing a headscarf...nobody looks at you! :-) it's like a cap that makes you invisible. :-) that's great! though how it works still fascinates me.
- if an indian person asks you for the time - suspicious on its own - he just wants to check if you are wearing an expensive watch..so wear the chinese fake or none at all
- wether the people speak english or indian or anything else...all sounds the same! ;-) Sometimes, in the intent to understand how much the driver wants for the ride ("How much did you say?"), I unconsiously bargain with him, because I just don't understand the sum he wants to tell me...but probably he thinks: "she is really a hard negotiator"...and everytime he mentiones lower sums, till I finally understand him, I probaby have bargained him down to a much lower number than he first told me ;)
- tuktuk driver and rickshaw driver consider even 20m of walking too dangerous and strenous for a woman
- young indian girls want to be photographed by you together with their best girlfriend and want to tell you their names, young indian boys want to take a picture with you in front of their friends -> what does this tell us about gender characteristics?
Generally spoken I enjoy the days very much! There is so much to see! But I am also glad when I come home to the hotel all in one each evening feeling rather exhausted. :-)
